Jacky Harrison
Jacky Harrison grew up in rural Northern Ireland, spending summers on local beaches, but the young Jacky dreamed of visiting faraway places. Her favourite subject at school was geography, and she realised there was a huge world of adventure awaiting discovery. Jacky settled down and raised a family, but the wanderlust never left her, and the travel adventure eventually began when she started working as a holiday representative for a major UK tour operator. She worked 13 seasons and the long list of highlights includes one year living in Cuba, and a winter season working on a Nile river boat sailing from Luxor to Aswan. Here, one of the many highlights was visiting the Abu Simbel, temple of Rameses 11. Jacky worked in Greece, Spain, and Morocco, but then heard the call of the sea and started work on board luxury cruise ships. Jacky was able to visit wonderful, far flung places like Australia and New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, and Cambodia, as well as North and South America, and all across Europe, and these experiences were beyond her wildest dreams.Jacky recently stepped away from big ship sailing and commenced a very enjoyable summer cruising on the Rhine and Moselle rivers, this time getting up close and personal to castles and vineyards as the ship gently traversed the waterways in the heart of Germany. Jacky is very much looking forward to continuing the adventure with Noble Caledonia, and is relishing the chance of meeting new people and exploring new places. While not travelling for a living, Jacky enjoys spending time with her very special little granddaughter.
